Ian Dunn is a Consultant Urological surgeon in NHS Lanarkshire. He qualified from Glasgow University, and trained mainly in the West of Scotland, completing his final year of training in New South Wales, Australia. Here he trained in Laparoscopic ("keyhole") Urological surgery, and has established a high volume NHS practice in Lanarkshire in laparoscopic renal surgery.
Since becoming a consultant Mr. Dunn has continued to expand his skills in this kind of surgery, and has recently introduced laparoscopic prostatectomy, for prostate cancer, into his NHS practice. Mr Dunn also provides general urological care, including the investigation and treatment of urinary symptoms in men and women. He was granted approval to treat patients in NHS Lanarkshire with Botox for symptoms of over-active bladder, and can also offer this service in the private sector. He performs microsurgical vasectomy reversal.
Mr Dunn is active in teaching and training, both locally and nationally, and is currently the honorary secretary of the Scottish Urological Society. He lives in Glasgow with his wife, also a doctor, and three children. His clinics are on Monday evening (Ross Hall and the Glasgow Nuffield), Wednesday evening (Ross hall) and Saturday morning (Ross Hall).
